The Pack Up And Dance concept came out of these killer parties on the beach in Barcelona last summer. "The scene is more electro than house over here," he explains, "but I was inspired by the response to the house sound, and how people were up for going on a bit of journey. House music without any complications."
Now living in Barcelona Andy is spreading his solo wings on a new project Pack Up And Dance, your time is now.

"I'm not trying to distance myself from Groove Armada but I definitely wanted to establish a new sound," he says. "Being slightly out of the loop in Spain, I've been experiencing a freshness at the beach and warehouse parties I've been playing and it's reignited my love of the house sound".
A double CD extravaganza released last year as part of the ever-popular Sessions series' Andy's debut Pack Up and Dance mix perfectly encapsulates this new ethos.
From Dennis Ferrer and John Dahlback to Steve Bug and the odd Balearic gem like 'I'll Be Your Friend' by Robert Owens, his new sound is more stripped down than you might expect but it's a soulful, funk-filled affair. "As you can see, it's about bridging both sides of the house sound I was brought up on. Gus Gus's 'David' reminds me of that Shelly's vibe but I also love Dennis Ferrer, who always has an endless house groove. Mike Monday too is doing a modern take on the looping groove. I want the vibe to be about warmth but combined with the relentlessness of house
Digs from Digs and Woosh - DiY was also part of the inspiration for Andy to write Good Vibration track, after he played a DJ Pierre record during Barcelona Sonar Pack Up And Dance parties last year. Andy couldnt find a copy of it, so he re-made it in the style of Pack Up And Dance.
The 7AM Drop and Good Vibration, was the first release on Pack Up And Dance.
So the tunes was born on the beach, and Digs was the perfect choice to remix it. And what a remix it is...
As it stands right now, Pack Up And Dance parties are club nights in the UK, Italy and Barcelona. "It's early days. A Warehouse crowd that's starting to develop. I'm launching residencies in three main locations. There'll be one in London, one outside Rome and one here in Barcelona.
"PackUpAndDance is a return to the simple things. This is all about 909s and 303s. My dream scenario is to lock the sound down in three locations and come summer, find some spots to do Pack Up And Dance in the great outdoors. There's no doubt that some break of dawn house moments are called for!" We wouldn't expect anything less
Andy Cato may well be the tallest man in dance music - but his production stature isn't that far behind. In the past twelve months alone, he's delivered killer productions for Urban Torque and Azuli. In fact, 'La Luna' by Andy Cato was one of the biggest records on the Space terrace last summer, as the label who released it are happy to tell us. 'La Luna' says label manager Paul Glancey, "is just excellent and one of the best in Azuli's 15 year 250 release history . Big with Sasha, Paul Van Dyk and Danny Tenaglia, it's been one of Azuli's biggest sellers of 2006 and has been used on heaps of compilations.
